A daily ritual for curious minds.
Borough brings ten small challenges together in one place. It takes its name and newspaper-inspired style from New York, but you can play from anywhere.
Ten ways to take a brain break
Start with a Sudoku, try a five-letter word puzzle, or finish a five-question trivia quiz. The collection includes word connections, a mini word-square crossword, a letter-building game, word search, Make 24, memory matching, and word ladders.
One shared daily edition
Every player sees the same date-selected edition of each game. The edition changes at midnight in the America/New_York time zone, including daylight-saving changes. Puzzles other than the word game may return as their current collections rotate.
Free to play, with transparent scoring
Nine games award 100 points for a successful solve. Daily Trivia awards 20 per correct answer. Saved results lock after completion or a final loss. There are no prizes or cash rewards, and the leaderboard is for friendly competition.
An independent collection
Borough is not affiliated with The New York Times, Wordle, or any other newspaper game publisher. Our rules and collection sizes are described on each game page.
Word data
The five-letter guess dictionary is derived from the public-domain dwyl English word list, with a small modern-word supplement. The daily answer schedule has 2,252 distinct entries and completes a full cycle before repeating.
